Summer Vacations

Fairbanks is North America's northernmost hub for travelers. If you want an adventure vacation filled with rugged terrain, abundant wildlife, fish filled lakes, and the ability to say you've been to the Arctic Circle, then Fairbanks is the hub you want to fly to before setting out on your tundra quest.

You can rent a car, but most travelers prefer the small planes that are abundant for shuttling travelers to remote communites and great fishing holes. You also have the option of exploring the surroundings by train and Denali National Park and Mt. McKinley are just south of Fairbanks on Rt. 3. You can reach Fairbanks by your own car along the Alaska Highway, but it is a long drive and most people prefer to skip the Yukon drive to spend more time in Alaska.
