Washington State Ferry Excursions - Bellingham Washington serves as a main port for the Washington State Ferry system and also for the Inland Marine Highway that takes travelers to Alaska. Another popular ferry trip takes off from the village of Anacortes Washington and takes you to the San Juan Islands. You can sometimes see whales surfacing from the shores of the San Juan Islands and the inexpensive ferry ride is worth the trip in itself as you get a wonderful view of the surrounding coastline.

Hwy 101 and Coastline Parks - Surf and seals abound along Highway 101 as you will drive past many state parks offering access to the surf and views of the seals. Keep in mind that sharks eat seals and surfboards can look like seals so don't surf next to a seal hangout because sharks patrol the waters looking to eat seals or things that look like seals.
