Summer Vacations

Heavy rains in early June 2008 have caused some flooding in the Wisconsin Dells.

The biggest problem is that the lake where the famous Tommy Bartlet water ski show is based flooded and then drained into the Wisconsin River. There also are some roads in the area that are flooded (including parts of Interstate 94/90 and highway 12 just south of Baraboo).

Most of the roads should be clear soon, but the water ski show will not include waterskiers since the lake is gone.

The waterparks and other activities in the center of the Dells are still operating and will provide a fun getaway on a hot summer weekend.

Some of the "Ducks" (former WWII military boats that give tours on the Wisconsin River) have been helping rescue people from flooded areas in neighboring cities. I highly recommend taking a boat tour if you need a day of rest from the waterparks and miniature golf courses.

Wisconsin Dells is a summer vacation destination in south central Wisconsin.

I saw a report that over 90% of the attractions, hotels, restaurants, waterparks, etc... were not affected by the recent flooding.

All roads are open and the Dells is open for business. Enjoy your summer vacation in the Wisconsin Dells.
